Glastonbury Fashion: In Rain or Shine

As music festivals go, Glastonbury is THE festival to attend.

Music festivals have turned into more than just a place to go and watch your favourite bands play, whilst spending a Glastoweekend camping. They have become a makeshift runway, where actors, models, and socialites express themselves through fashion.

The lineup for this years Glastonbury festival, was like years past, filled with the most talented and unique groups of musicians. From the DJ Skrillex, to Dolly Parton, Lilly Allen and Arcade Fire, the music at this festival had something for everyone. The Black Keys, Lana del Rey, the Pixies, M.I.A., MGMT, Jake Bugg are just a few from a list that goes on and on.

Although Glastonbury 2014 fell between June 25th and 29th this year, with the beginning of summer in full swing, the weather gods decided otherwise. With a downpour of rain on the Friday of the festival weekend, the Saturday left everything mud covered and left the fashion game up to some seriously versatile looks.

The rain caused chaos and slippery situations; however, the fashionistas embraced this with the shoe style that never seems to go out of fashion: Hunters.

First worn by and noticed by the world, Kate Moss took wellies to the next level and managed to dress up a functional shoe and make it into something fashionable and coveted by everyone.

This trend was seen in full force at Glastonbury this year, saving many from the mud puddles all over the farm fields. The crowds at the festival paired their hunters with everything from playsuits to slip dresses. The boots were seen in many styles, from tall pairs to the short, even the lace up style could be seen on some.

If you’re planning on heading to any music festivals this summer, like Pemberton, Squamish or Rifflandia, don’t forget to pack your Hunters and pair them with anything, from a boho floral dress or denim shorts and channel your inner Kate Moss.
