NICHE attended the official launch of the elegant Nail Boutique at the Willow Stream Spa, Fairmont Empress Hotel on the afternoon of January 16, 2014.
Tracey Drake, Editor in Chief, and Josie Saldat, Jr. Fashion Assistant with NICHE magazine were delighted to be on hand for the 3pm ribbon cutting, and VIP reception afterwards, complete with goodies, sparkling juice, and mini spa treatments including manicures and pedicures in the new luxury Nail Boutique.
Also in attendance was Don Fennerty, General Manager of Fairmont Empress Hotel; Anita Voorsluys, Spa Sales Manager for Willow Stream Spa at The Fairmont Empress; Ken Kelly, General Manager of the Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA); Fran Hobbis, Chair of the Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA); Heather McGillivray, Director of Sales for Tourism Victoria and Shanna Ferrari, District Sales Manager for OPI.
What a truly incredible addition to this downtown spa property. The space was large enough to avoid feeling cramped, but small enough to maintain that expected cozy spa feeling. The stations are well spaced so you don’t feel as though you are losing that sense of privacy. The lighting in the space is a combination of natural and ambient, which is ideal to achieve a true sense of relaxation, so kudos to the planners for thinking through the finite, yet critical details to creating the perfect spa experience.
The pedicure stations remind me of regal thrones without being at all ostentatious; each covered with warm tufted fabric and extra wide seating that offers an opportunity to get comfortable and thoroughly enjoy the treatment. Tracey Drake, Editor in Chief, NICHE magazine
Although the Nail Boutique is conveniently located within the Willow Stream Spa so that a guest can walk around comfortably in a spa robe while padding from treatment to treatment, the Nail Boutique is completely separate and self-sufficient (5 pedicure thrones, several manicure stations and washroom), making it an ideal spot for a bridal party, girls night out or special event. A small group could book the whole space and be truly pampered in style.
