Christian Dior Resort 2016 at Le Palais Bulles

Set at Le Palais Bulles – a palace of terra-cotta bubbles on the cliffs in France between Monaco and Cannes. Now home to French Couturier and Fashion Designer, Pierre Cardin. This futuristic bubble home was built by Hungarian Architect, Antti Lovag from 1979-1984. With Simons bringing a modern and futuristic approach to his work for Dior, this location was the perfect backdrop and setting for his 2016 cruise collection.

Cruise collections always seem to reflect a time of travel and excitement and for Dior’s it fell nothing less than a playful adventure. Reinterpretations of the iconic Bar jacket were made this season, fit for the modern woman with a flattering waist cinch iconic from Dior’s heritage. Simons brings a twist on the 11247752_927533443963736_166801778_ndetails and silhouettes that Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent invented for the fashion house making them iconic attributes still to this date. An organic inspiration was evident in the knit garments and watercolour patterns on pieces as if drawn from the landscapes and colours of France. Simons brought a sporty vibe to the collection with mesh tops and layers over lighter weightless fabrics contrasting the soft and bold sides of fashion.
