DKNY’s 25th Anniversary: Runway Starring Real New Yorkers

A unique casting of models were chosen to walk the 25th-anniversary show for DKNY fall 2014. A sort film set the mood for the show, featuring the casted line-up speaking about the city they live, New York. Staying loyal to her brand, Donna Karan New York, Karan styled New York rappers, artists, professional skateboarders and upcoming models. The show opened with it-girl, Sasha Luss wearing an oversized black statement coat and fringed black skirt with crisp white booties. As the next few looks came down the runway it was evident that heavy sneakers and boots with a sporty flare were setting a tone of effortless confidence.

Angel Haze- DKNYModernized Puffer, varsity and parka coats perfect for the city streets were true Karan urban spins on fall wear. Slouchy suiting, pink lacework, plaids and vibrant blue houndstooth brought a contemporary essence and matched with the diverse line-up of New York inhabitants modeling for the show. With the casting line styling their own hair and make-up it was almost as if every look was straight out of a street style look book.

Karan brought the cities style to the runway, embracing individuality in every form. New York was the main inspiration behind the collection and it was clear to see through the use of fabrics and silhouettes which represent the sparkle and DNA of DKNY.
