Creative Director and mastermind behind McQueen, Sarah Burton brings a collection in full bloom to the runway. The pure and elegant essence of the set was amplified with British Artist, Marc Quinn’s floral sculptures titled “Prehistory of Desire”. Garments were constructed with incredible craftsmanship resulting in stunning pieces of art worn on model warriors.mcqueen_backstage_03

The innocence of full flowing floral skirts with leather head pieces and heel-less platform gladiator inspired shoes created a O-atmosphere-alexander-mcqueen-spring-2015_03distinct juxtaposition between softness and strength. Modern day elegance of the strong powerful woman was manipulated by silk jacquard dresses with floral prints and organza floral skirts with laser cut leather attributes. A reference to spring blossoms was created through the use of Sakura pink and the voluminous layers as full as arching trees in full blossom.
