Held in Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual two-weekend, three-day festival. Featuring many established as well as emerging hip-hop, indie, electronic and indie musicians, Coachella is one of the most infamous festivals in North America.
Known for celebrity and socialite appearances, Coachella has become a fashion festival as well. This year NICHE will be taking our readers and followers along with us on the journey to week two of Coachella!
6 TIPS FOR PACKING:
If you are stuck with a pile of clothes in the middle of your room, an empty suitcase and a headache from contemplating what to wear to certain shows…NICHE is here to help!
1. Download the COACHELLA app on your phone.
This app is not only FREE, but keeps any Coachella attendee organized and aware of everything that will happen within the 3-day festival. Show schedules, food options, maps, attractions, retailers and much more info all in the palm of your hands.
2. Dress for the weather
Since Coachella is in the desert, opt for lighter fabrics and a few comfy sweaters to keep warm for the shows at night. A Great pair of shorts and an easy pull-over dress are always a good idea. Pack a hat – a cap or wide brimmed sun hat are perfect for keeping your face safe from the sun’s beaming rays. A fun pair of sunnies is always a great idea, switch it up for the boho-festival by trying some bright statement shades. Don’t bring your good sunglasses! Odds are that you will probably drop them in a crowd or while dancing.
3. Smart shoes
Invest in a great pair of sandals or sneakers for the festival. With the desert dust and thousands of people running around, you will thank yourself for sticking to chic comfort. Try a pair that goes with most of your outfits, this will keep your packing light and your outfit pairing easy.
4. Stay hydrated!
With shows starting at 11am and running until late hours of the night, water is essential! Attendees are not able to bring any beverages onto the festival grounds so it is best to bring an empty bottle to refill at one of the many refill stations. If you are thinking about how annoying it might be carrying along a water bottle all day, opt for a BPA- free foldable water bottle with a carabiner attached.
5. Beauty on the go
Whether you are camping or staying off site, there are many beauty products that will be your best friend during the festival. Timing is everything while at the festival so making sure you are up and ready for the full day to come is essential. Think smart and pack beauty items that are quick to apply and last throughout the day. Dry shampoo will keep hair looking fresh and stylish over the three-day span without anyone knowing you might have slept in and missed your morning chance to shower. To stay safe in the sun, try a cover-up and lip balm with SPF added. ColoreScience Sunforgettable SPF 30 or 50 is a perfect item to add to your festival fanny-pack. Waterproof mascara is a great idea as you never know if you will be splashed across the face with a water bottle tossed into the crowd. Try a blush or bronzing stick to add a little sun kissed glow while taking up no space in your festival pouch.
6.Hands free bag
Backpack or fanny-pack, think smart by planning ahead what you need to bring to the festival with you each day. Backpacks are a great choice as it will make it easier to carry a blanket, water bottle and light jacket.
