Victoria, BC – Emerging Stylist Caitlin Ing wins position on the Mayfair Style Team! After four weeks of fashion focused challenges, the winner of the Mayfair Stylist Search has been chosen. Through a combination of voter participation and evaluation by a panel of local fashion personalities, Caitlin Ing has overwhelmingly been selected to join the Mayfair Style Team. “We are excited to work with Caitlin as she grows her styling career” says Mayfair Marketing Director, Julie McCracken. “Our judging panel was very impressed with how articulate, passionate and creative she is at such an early point in her career. Caitlin is extremely talented and we are excited for our shoppers to get to spend time with her”.
“This whole competition has been an amazing experience for me. I’ve learned so much from the judges and the other contestants, and I’m very excited to be a part of the Mayfair Style Team”, Caitlin exclaims, “I love fashion, and I can’t wait to share my ideas with all Mayfair Shoppers!”
Over the past several weeks, six stylist candidates were given the opportunity to vie for the position of Mayfair’s newest stylist by competing in Styling Challenges including a blog post challenge, a media skills challenge and a mannequin styling challenge. The resulting fashions from the mannequin challenge were posted online for the public to vote for their favourites. More than 15,000 votes were tallied over the two week voting period. Four finalists were selected to participate in the final challenge – to conduct a personal shopping session as they normally would with a real client, working within the budget. The stylists then presented their made over client in the Big Reveal Fashion Event at Mayfair last Thursday, May 22.
With Caitlin now in place, Mayfair is ready to relaunch The Mayfair Stylist program, in support of the local charity Bridges for Women Society. For a $20 taxable donation, shoppers are able to spend two hours with our professional stylist who will help improve their wardrobe, maximize their budget, and answer fashion related questions.
