1. What or who inspired you to model?
I’ve wanted to be a model since the first time I put on a pair of my mum’s high heels in kindergarten! I’ve always been inspired by the artistry involved in fashion. Runway shows aren’t just for clothes, they’re for creations and works of art, and I’m so thrilled that I get to be a part of the presentation.

2. If you had the chance to meet your favourite supermodel, who would that be?
That’s a hard question, because I would have to choose between meeting someone for modeling advice and stories, or meeting someone hoping their inate ‘cool factor’ would rub off on me. I think Gia Carangi would be interesting to have had a conversation with, and I’ve always admired Kate Mossfor her intrigue, and Daria Werbowy for her strength and charity work (plus she’s Canadian!).

3. Do you remember your first gig, if so what was it?
My first job was in Victoria at Not Just Pretty when I was 14, it was a runway show, and I remember my family picking me up afterwards with a ridiculous amount of Indian take-out and giggling at my elaborate hair and makeup. That was the job that got me addicted to modeling, and I still model for that amazing boutique now!

4. As a model do you prefer editorial work or runway?
It’s impossible to decide. On one hand, I adore the adrenaline rush you get stepping onto the runway, and how you’re transported to a completely different world until you get backstage again. But on the other hand I love editorial work because it’s like acting….except that you have to capture the whole character, the whole story, the whole scenario and translate that moment to the viewer in one single photo.

5. If you could pick one designer to model for, who would it be and why?(runway or editorial)
Hands down Elie Saab, on the runway or for a shoot. I’ve been in love with his gowns since I discovered fashion. His work is so ethereal and breathtaking, it would be a dream come true. And I love any jobs where I get to wear beautiful evening dresses!

6.What is your favourite part of Vancouver Fashion Week? If you haven’t taken part before, what are you looking forward to most?
This is my third season at Vancouver Fashion Week, and I love everything about it. It’s a harder job than you might think, the whole ‘hurry up and wait’ thing can get tiring, but I love every second of it. Reconnecting with my Coultish girls, the hair and makeup concepts, the stunning designs, the amazing diversity in brilliance from every contributor, and the general excitement around the whole thing! A lot of hard work goes into this week, and it’s magical to see it all come together so beautifully.
