Karl Lagerfeld invited celebrities and socialite friends of his to open the fall couture show making a grand star-studded entrance. The set of the show was made to look like a living casino in action, inside the Grand Palais. Each celebrity entered the center casino installation with grace and elegance wearing custom Chanel attire and diamonds made specifically for them. Hinting at the major inspiration drawn from Coco Chanel and her original 1932 designs, Lagerfeld welcomed his roster of models wearing modern Coco haircuts paired with their couture looks. For this collection Lagerfeld experimented with couture (taking a gamble) and played up cocktail dressing the Chanel way.
