It might be a cold, rainy night, but that didn’t stop Victoria’s finest to attend Hughes’ Spring 2014 Fashion Show. The designers that were showcased were Lida Baday, Tiger of Sweden and John Varvatos to mention a few. The energy – ecstatic. Guests were welcomed with grandeur by staff and entertained with classics played by pianist Scott Arkell. The glass counter was turned into a bar and the whole space was transformed into a full fashion runway. Seated in front were long-time friends and loyal clients of Hughes owner Donna Anderson.
Pop music blasted as models took on the runway. What is most interesting and refreshing to see was the models were people from different walks of life. They were free to express themselves in the runway. It was not just about the fashion but it was about the people who wore them. During the show, there were different stories told. A very fashionable couple holding hands strolling the city. A lovely lady smiling in a floral dress enjoying her walk along the park. And a gentleman in a full Hughes suit giving high-five to his fans. It was an incredible sight and experience.
