VFW-Facebook-Header-WebVancouver- August 27th, 2013 | During this Spring/Summer 2014 season, from September 16th-21st, Vancouver Fashion Week is proud to announce partnerships with Oakridge, Loungeworks, Kasian Architecture Interior Design Ltd, Dolce Vita Magazine, NICHE magazine, and Blackberry.

Blackberry is revamping their marketing strategy by engaging with customers in a more innovative fashion. At VFW, they will be creating an interactive experience in the lobby of the Chinese Cultural Centre, and will be allowing attendees to check out their newest product line in person.

Oakridge Centre, Vancouver West side’s premier luxury shopping destination, is currently hosting an exhibit for Vancouver Fashion Week in the West Galleria. The exhibit will feature designs by Evan Clayton, Dandilion Wind Opaine, and Oriana Galvan. Oakridge is redeveloping itself to becoming a mixed-use community – activity fields, urban agriculture, quiet gardens, a reflecting pool, sport courts, a running track, and more.

Watch as Vancouver Fashion Week transforms the Chinese Cultural Centre into the centre of fashion and luxury. Furniture will be supplied by Loungeworks, a high-end furniture retail and corporate décor company, and international company Kasian Architecture Interior Design Ltd. will be providing interior decorating services for Vancouver Fashion Week.

NICHE magazine debuted in January 2013 and offers editorial coverage on fashion and beauty, home and décor, lifestyle and travel.

Dolce Vita Magazine features high-end fashion, automotive, jewelry, real estate, and profiles on international businesses and entrepreneurs.

This season, our designers hail from 15 countries and 4 continents. Vancouver Fashion Week is fortunate enough to be receiving designers from over 5 design competitions, and sponsoring over 20 designers. Vancouver Fashion Week will continue its tradition of committing to promote emerging international and local talent. The official confirmed designer list for the VFW Spring/Summer 2014 showcase is as follows:

Kaye Morales, Comme Lun, Kristina Banden, VVHATIF, Veejay Floresca, Vivid Haiku, Nina Tan, Angela Huang, Behene, Evan Clayton, Sara Roka, Amanda Wade-Pearson, Indiverve, Elfer Castro, Ovide Couture, Celestial, Nikki Babie, Theresa Chan, Angela Reyna, Itala Testino Atelier, El Clóset de mi Hermana, WARMI, Dandilion Wind Opaine, Liliming, Goldie, AngelEye, Fever, Noe Bernacelli, Kamilla Gawronska, No Label Society Club, Christina Exie, Firan & Rose, Hong Kiyoung, Dzigna Knitz, L’enfant Terrible, Blushing Designs, Valerio Moda, NIAHM, Lisa Ryder, The Unified Theory, Ha Sang Beg, 2HB, Taran K. Cheema, Papillon, Jenna Cotton, Jesper Annerstedt, Sonya Jang, and Carolina Rojas. Accessory designers Edblad, Viia Jewelry, and JFG Designs will also be showing alongside the runway in the VFW exhibition space.

Some of our favourite established designers are Ha Sang Beg (Korea), Noe Bernacelli (Peru), and Sara Roka (Italy/Canada). These three designers are so unique and diverse – placing them onto the stages of Vancouver Fashion Week brings harmony to the different cultures that they represent.

Our designers each bring a distinct story and message to our stage:

  • Taran K. Cheema is a young fashion designer, originally from Vancouver, and volunteered for VFW before graduating from Parsons. Her and her family had always known at a young age that she’d become a designer.

  • Liliming from China specializes in knitwear. We cannot wait to see it!

  • Ha Sang Beg is the number one designer for Korean Pop celebrities in South Korea. His list of clientele is very interesting. For those who do not know, K-Pop has a huge influence all throughout Asia.

In 2011, VFW was named Vancouver’s official fashion week by mayor Gregor Robertson. Since it’s conception, VFW has established a reputation of propelling undiscovered designers to success.
