Celeb and model spotting is common amongst the most popular West Coast music festival, Coachella. Fashion lovers from around the world gather for the three day festival in Indio, California to get close to their favourite musicians and style stalk.
There is always bound to be copious amounts of must-have-list items seen every which way you look at the festival. With popular go-to fashion websites, numerous girls strut Nasty Gal or Urban Outfitter looks. It seems as if the essence that everyone is trying to achieve is a laid back vibe with stylish attributes. Constant thoughts of “should I be looking at the stage or checking out the girls outfit in front of me” are typical to run through your head. Not to mention how handy it would be if Lohan had released her app idea (Shazam for fashion) to easily find out who is wearing what and where to purchase it!
This year Coachella seemed to be infused with a love for hotpants. Yes, it is extremely humid in the desert so minimal clothing is typically worn by festival attendees, but the pairing of hotpants and bathing suit or bustier style tops were seen more than usual. Mixings of high-waisted skater skirts and maxis paired with a crop top seemed like a casual go-to look, especially seen with a light kimono cover-up.
With the bright desert sun streaming down on the grounds throughout the day, a great pair of sunnies is a must-pack item. Glasses of all sorts were seen this year. Many blue and orange reflective lenses graced the grounds as well as fun bright frames adding a pop of colour. Some took fun prints and chunky accessories to the next level with fruit inspired bags, transparent clutches, blow-up backpacks and the throwback item that never seems to really go away- the fanny pack.
Chunky sandals and 90’s flatforms were seen in all styles. Coachella organizers got creative, as there was a designated ‘selfie zone’ of giant mirrored walls in the middle of the grounds. Yes, we took the obligatory selfie.
